11. Conclusions

The GovStack initiative and the eIDAS 2.0 regulation approach the challenge of digital identity from complementary perspectives. GovStack provides a platform-agnostic, open-standard architectural baseline intended for global applicability. In contrast, the EU regulation establishes a rigorous legal and governance profile designed to ensure trust, liability, and cross-border recognition within a specific single market.

As detailed in this guide, the standard GovStack Wallet Building Block does not, in its default configuration, satisfy the full spectrum of EUDI Wallet requirements. However, these gaps represent configuration and extension requirements rather than fundamental architectural incompatibilities.

The core protocols are aligned with the EUDIW Architecture Reference Framework (ARF). This alignment suggests that a GovStack-based wallet can serve as the technical core of an EUDI-compliant solution, provided that the EU overlay defined in this document is applied.

This guide demonstrates that it is feasible to deploy a solution that is technically grounded in GovStack while remaining compliant with the high-security and privacy mandates of the European Digital Identity Wallet.
